Location
Hinton Airfield is a small private airfield in the south of Northamptonshire, near Brackley . The area borders Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Warwickshire, all within a few miles.

The land was bought by the Harrison family in 1924 and taken from them to build the World War II airfield in 1939. It came back in the Harrison family hands in 1963 and the airfield activities were carried on in a small way, building to what is here now – gliding, parachuting and private aviation.

We welcome visitors on a Prior Permission basis and are trying to streamline the procedure for obtaining permission by the use of this website.

Would all prospective aviators wishing to visit please fill in your details and read the conditions that apply to you visiting, using the PPR Form.

If you are meeting people who are coming to the airfield by road they MUST use the entrance accessed from the A422 on the Brackley side of the village of Farthinghoe. The village is situated between Banbury and Brackley. Upon turning off the A422, it is 1 ½ miles to the airfield with several blind spots and bends. Please keep below 40mph in consideration of our neighbours.

Please note that the airfield is closed for the weekend of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
